Course content:
Seismological, geological, tectonic, surveying, logging, geographic, gravimetric, geomagnetic, radiometric, geoelectric, geothermal, hydrological, meteorological and other methods of researching the physical properties of the Earth. Earth as a solid celestial body: shape, size, mass, self-rotation, moment of inertia, moment of impulse (angular moment).
The earth as a solid deformable body: tectonic forces, creation of relief, isostasy, earthquakes, self-oscillations. Vertical and lateral changes in composition, density, temperature, isotropic pressure, deviatory stresses, rheological properties and physical processes in the Earth's interior; creation and properties of the Earth's magnetic, electric and thermal fields. Telluric currents. Hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere. Tsunami. Hypotheses about the origin of the Earth.
