OUR MISSION
The Institute of Physics is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. It is the largest higher-education and scientific center in the country dealing with issues in the field of physics. It organizes undergraduate and master's studies, offering a wide range of study programs, and in cooperation with the School of Doctoral Studies at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, it also offers the opportunity to obtain the title of Doctor of Physical Sciences.
Our commitments are:
- To establish European standards in higher physics education and to offer our students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will enable a successful career in science, industry, education, or other related disciplines.
- To develop as a research center in the field of fundamental and applied research that will be globally recognizable. To this end, we have established collaborations with renowned institutions worldwide and strive to constantly increase their number.
- To assist domestic and regional industry through work on joint projects, especially in the field of innovation.
- To utilize our many years of experience in textbook writing and the creation of curricula and syllabi for primary and secondary schools to contribute to the development of quality education in our country.
- To become a center for lifelong education for physics teachers from primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Macedonia.
Anyone interested in collaborating with the Institute of Physics, whether an academic or other type of public institution, a potential industrial partner, or a future student, is welcome at our Institute.
Macedonian representative in the European Magnetism Association - EMA
IRINA PETRESKA from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics - Skopje, Institute of Physics has been elected to represent the magnetism community of MACEDONIA in the General Council (GC) of the European Magnetism Association (EMA).
EMA is a non-profit organisation promoting the development of magnetism and magnetic materials in Europe by raising the visibility and impact of research on fundamental and applied magnetism.
The GC consists of representatives of the European countries active in magnetism research and defines the general policy of EMA, overseeing key activities such as the Joint European Magnetic Symposia (JEMS) conference and the European School on Magnetism (ESM).
The MACEDONIA’s magnetism community is warmly encouraged to reach out to IRINA PETRESKA (irina.petreska@pmf.ukim.mk) to share ideas, raise topics of interest, or explore opportunities to get involved in EMA activities (for additional information, see magnetism.eu).
