Irena Zlatanovska was born on April 24, 1995, in Kumanovo, Republic of Macedonia. She completed her primary and secondary education in her hometown with excellent academic performance. In the academic year 2014/2015, she enrolled in Medical Physics studies at the Institute of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics – Skopje, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, where she graduated in 2019 as the best student of the Institute. In the same year, she enrolled in Master’s studies in Medical Physics and obtained her MSc degree in 2023 with the thesis “Terrestrial Radioactivity in the City of Bitola and Its Environs”, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Lambe Barandovski. During her studies, in the academic year 2019/2020, she worked as a demonstrator at the Institute of Physics. In December 2020, she was employed as a senior laboratory assistant at the same institute. Since 2023, she has been a PhD student in Physics at the Institute of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics – Skopje, and in December 2023 she was appointed as an assistant. Her scientific interests are focused on radiation physics and environmental protection. She is involved in teaching laboratory and numerical exercises in several courses, including Atomic Physics, Nuclear Physics with Elementary Particles, Environmental Physics and Protection, Radiation Physics and Dosimetry, General Physics 1 and 2, General Physics – B level (for chemistry students), as well as Physics 1 and Physics 2 at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy. She is a member of the Society of Physicists of Macedonia, where she actively participates in the organization and implementation of municipal, regional, and national physics competitions, as well as conferences and schools, where she delivers popular science lectures. Since 2023, she has held the position of Secretary of the Society of Physicists of Macedonia.
